Chiller Replacement

The GSA initiated design build services to replace the Building ND0046ZZ cooling system and associated equipment located on the Federal Building/Post Office.

Lavastida Development Group, LLC (LDG) conducted the design, demolition and construction to replace the existing 375-ton McQuay centrifugal chiller, including the condenser water pump and chilled water pump. This chiller is water cooled by three AEC cooling towers which are fiberglass and mounted on the roof. The newly installed chiller is magnetic bearing, operated on 134a refrigerant, and connected to the existing building automation system. LDG kept the building accessible and operable during period of performance.
